Hola Mi Familia! Can you even believe that I'm a missionary now? I seriously can't. Sometimes in class I'll just look around and wonder where the last few months have gone. It went so fast! But I am LOVING being a missionary! It is so amazing. When I first got here I was rushed through to get all my missionary material. It was so confusing, there were a million people telling you which way to turn and asking a lot of question it was a little overwhelming haha But I survived! I got a big bag of books. I knew I was going to be getting language material but I didn't expect so much. I have no idea where I'll be putting all of this when I go to Mexico. So I was the first one in my district to go into class and when I walked in the teacher talked purely Spanish. I had heard that this was how learning a language was at the MTC but I guess I didn't really think about what that would be like. Everyone going to a Spanish speaking mission goes to the West MTC campus and it is awesome! There is just a huge community of Spanish speaking Elders and Hermanas and It is amazing to be surrounded by so many people learning your same language. You honestly cannot go ten feet without getting a "HOLA! from someone and I just love it. We are encouraged to SML - or Speak My Language so in every conversation we use what little Spanish we remember. I have loved that and it really pushes you to learn the Spanish because it is so fun to use it in conversation. I cannot believe how much I already have learned and it makes me excited for how much my Spanish will grow! Every class is taught in Espanol so sometimes it turns into a game of charades. The best part though is that though we don't always understand what is being said, when the teacher begins to bare testimony the spirit just rushes over the room and you canfeel what is being said, though you may not understand exactly. But luckily I actually am understanding more now! Slowly but surly. la practica hace el maestro! Practice makes perfect...Technically practice makes the teacher. I love our teacher Hermano Nol Temeyer. He has such a great way of teaching so that we really are understanding the Spanish but he also is just fun, he makes class enjoyable. Our district often talks about how much we love going to class. I love mi Companera! Hermana Ledek is from Farmington New Mexico and is just so awesome! I wasn't sure how I'd feel about having a companion glued to the hip all the time but I really like Hermana Ledek. I feel like every time we talk we grow as companions. I feel like we're just on the same page as missionaries and our personalities go together well. We taught two lessons so far. The first was just a short message to a member (Hermana Thomas) to try and get a referral. This went okay because we were allowed to speak in "spanglish". We prepared a scripture - 2 Nephi 4 - 17-21 talking about how Nephi feels like he has such sin and temptation but he relies on the Lord to be his support. I love that scripture and the message went really well! On our second full day as a missionary we taught our referral from Hermana Thomas - Magdalena. Me and Hermana Ledek felt really comfortable about it, but then right before we went into the lesson we found out that Magdalena spoke NO English. It was so scary! I honestly did not know enough about what we wanted to teach and it was rough with what little spanish we knew. Magdalena did accept the Book of Mormon though and it seemed promising. I can't wait for our next lesson with her on Monday! We are going to be so much more prepared! Saturday is P-Day! We woke up and were out the door by 6:15 (ouch) For a service project - or cleaning the church. We cleaned the laundry room for about 45 minutes and then went to get ready for the temple!! We went to the temple with our Zone and it was so amazing! We got to do an endowment session and I loved the new, new movie! It was so great! I loved the Provo temple as well, it is so beautiful inside. After the temple ate lunch on the main campus and it was so awesome seeing all the missionaries and not just the Spanish ones. I loved the big MTC and was so glad we got to eat there - especially since the food options on West campus are no bueno. On Main campus they have a million different options! I love P-Day but I'm also excited to get back to class later tonight. I love the spirit here! It is amazing! It honestly blows me away and I cannot believe how far my testimony has already grown in just a few days. I'm honestly loving the MTC! Things are going fantastic. Por favor, please send me lots of Dear Elders! We get those each night and can open them when we get back to our apartments! I loved getting a few but would love more! Thanks for all you do for me! Sorry this letter is really scrambled, we don't get much time to write. Now back to missionary work! :) Hermana Terry We found the wall! The girls in my district. Hermana Jensen, Hermana Shinglton, Hermana Ledek Hermana Terry had the wonderful opportunity to get set apart by Uncle/Elder Holland! It was such a neat blessing and the spirit was so strong!
