I received my call on September 14th 2013 and opened it the next night. I didn't know what to expect but "Mexico Veracruz" was definitely not it! Nonetheless I soon received confirmation that Mexico is exactly where I need to serve and that there is someone in Mexico who needs me and only me - whether it is an investigator, a member or even just a companion. I know that this is where the Lord wants me and that by serving here I will be able to bring others unto Christ as well as grow into the person God intended me to be. I couldn't be more excited for this opportunity to serve! I know it will be challenging but I also know it will be worth it. One of the biggest motivating factors for me serving a mission is what it will mean for my future family. I know that this decision will improve me as a future mother and will be so key for my family. I read a quote that said,
"Many young women are serving missions, many are preparing to serve. Not because they aren't married or have nothing else to do; but because they have a desire to serve Therefore they are being called to the work. The reason so many are going is because in the next generation Heavenly Father will be sending his Priesthood Army to the earth and wants to send them to mothers who have been properly trained and taught in the gospel. What better training can a young women have than that of serving a mission."
This makes me more motivated then ever to serve a mission so that I can be prepared for my posterity and be the best mother I can be. I know that this is the right path for me and I couldn't be more excited to take the plunge and jump into missionary work.
