This week was great! It was a week full of a lot of work with little results but that's just how it is sometimes in the mission and in life. It's been frustrating the past few weeks because almost every single one of our contacts, refrences and investigators are not in our area. We've met so many fantastic people only to have to send their reference to other missionarys. Also we started teaching an amazing family and their friend that want to be baptized!...But they are all moving this week. Haha if only other missionaries did as much work for us as we do for them.
On Tuesday and Wednesday we had Divisions! It was a little scary because this transfer I was the missionary in the area so I was the senior companion and got to do just about everything. I was pretty nervous but it actually didn't go too badly haha and I had so much fun with Hermana Garcia the Sister Training Leader.
One of the absolute best moments of this week was a lesson that we had with Plutarco, one of our investigators who is progressings slowly but surely. We had the great idea to take Ruperto and Guadalupe with us to the lesson and we watched the Restoracion video with them and then after Ruperto started sharing his testimony with Plutarco and giving motivacion and then Guadalupe started sharing her testimony and talked about how before she met us she didn't even know if God existed but now she knows and is so grateful for the love of our Heavenly Father and then started bearing testimony of prayer and that we can know the church is true, that the Book of Mormon is true through prayer exactly how Joseph Smith prayed. It was SO amazing to hear her bear her testimony and share it with one of our investigators. I am beyond grateful for the opportunity I have to be a missionary and invite others to come unto Christ and to gain the peace and joy that the gospel can bring.
We've been struggling getting the members to have the desire to be involved in Missionary work so we planned and had a Fireside last night, and it was so great! We even got President Trevino to come and speak. It's amazing how nobody wants to go to a missionary fireside until you tell them that there will be a 70 there. Presidente Trevino was called as an area general authority a "70" in this last conference so all the members were sure to come when we announced that he would be speaking. It was such an amazing night and helped motivate all the members to want to take part in Missionary Work. This is definitely something I didn't really pay much attention to like I should have before my mission. It truly is the work of every member, not just the missionaries. I've studied so much in Preach My Gospel the past few weeks about working with the members and their role in Missionary Work. I invite all of you members (or me in the future haha) to invite your friends, invite your family to the Celestial Kingdom! Help out the missionaries in your ward, pray for the missionary work not only in the world but in your ward. And pray for those opportunities to share the gospel and people will be placed in your path that you can help and bring unto salvacion.
This transfer we never had a District or Zone activity so we organized one within the Hermanas of Costa Verde! haha We got permision and went to the Aquarium today and it was such a blast! They had so many fish that I honestly never even knew existed, and they had a huge fish tank with all the fish from Finding Nemo like the fish tank in the Dentist office. And they even had a Dolfin show. It was such a fun day, I am definitley going to miss these Hermanas when we have transfers next week
